Always drives me crazy, seems one day my Tivoli backups stop working and we have to enter the password again, this usually causes the service to stop working with the error that is the title of this article.
IF this occurs, do the following;
- Add "PASSORDACCESS GENERATE" to the dsm.opt file (Note: Most pages will say to add "PASSWORDACCESS:GENERATE", but use a space, not a colon.)
- Run the command line client, dsmc and when prompted enter the password.
- Restart the service.
